This border lake is a place of frontiers and thresholds, where the view runs high and deep. These retreats offer the opportunity for solitude, reflection, and expression within the framework of a supportive community. Lake Memphremagog is a spectacular body of water stretching 25 miles from the Province of Quebec into northern Vermont. We stay in a private home (with a cozy fireplace) located in a beautiful hardwood forest on the lakeshore. Lovely footpaths wind their way to the water's edge and to high meadows with views of the lake and surrounding mountains. These trips include an evening outing to a nearby Benedictine monastery to listen to the vespers service sung in Gregorian chant.
